It is fair to say Carlo Curley has gone to extraordinary lengths to break into the music scene.
Like many musicians, the 58-year-old flamboyant and popular classical concert organist got his introduction to music from his grandmother, who taught him to play piano when he was 4.
Later, he joined his grandmother in the local church choir in North Carolina, where he discovered the organ.

Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin is speaking out on the beating her adult son took from three men at a Detroit gas station this week.
Franklin said in a statement some early reports had some innaccuracies.
Franklin said through a public relations firm that Eddie Franklin underwent surgery after arriving at a hospital emergency room earlier this week. She said his jaw was wired shut.
Franklin also said her son's girlfriend gave the wrong location of the attack.

Pop idol Eddie Fisher dead

Eddie Fisher, whose huge fame as a pop singer was overshadowed by scandals ending his marriages to Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor, has died. He was 85.

His daughter, Tricia Leigh Fisher, of Los Angeles, said Fisher died of complications from hip surgery at a hospital in Berkeley

David Beckham's management company says it is taking legal action against a US magazine which published claims the former England captain slept with prostitutes.
The company said in a statement the allegations in the weekly In Touch are "completely untrue and totally ridiculous as the magazine was clearly told before publication."
"Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it. We are taking legal action against the magazine," the statement said.
