ISLAMABAD News: Inaugural Sessions of National, Provincial Assemblies, Aug 12, 2018


ISLAMABAD – The inaugural session of the 15th National Assembly will be held at the Parliament House in Islamabad at 10:00 am on Monday (today).

The newly elected members of the National Assembly will have to acquire Assembly cards issued by its secretariat to attend the session and participate in the oath-taking.
The assembly card is also essential for casting vote in the election of Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and the Prime Minister.
A facilitation center was established at the National Assembly Committee Room No.2 for the issuance and collection of assembly cards for the newly elected parliamentarians.
The inaugural sessions of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies have also been summoned on Monday.
During the sessions, the newly elected members of the provincial assemblies will take oath of their offices.
They will also elect Speakers, Deputy Speakers and Leaders of the House.
Meanwhile, governor Punjab has summoned first session of the provincial assembly on August 15 (Wednesday) at 10.00 am.
PTI emerges as largest party in NA with 158 seats
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the largest party in National Assembly with 158 seats after the inclusion of reserved seats for women and minorities.
It is followed by Pakistan Muslim League-N with 82 seats.
Pakistan Peoples Party is on third number with 53 seats.
Meanwhile, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal has 15 seats, Balochistan Awami Party 5 and Balochistan National Party 4 seats.
