OZZY: We're not divorcing | Irish Examiner, Apr 16, 2013

"The quirky couple, who have been married 31 years, sparked speculation they were splitting up after being spotted without their wedding rings and Sharon being seen moving into a new Los Angeles pad. However, the 64-year-old rocker took to his personal Facebook page to set the record straight, as well as make amends with his family and Black Sabbath bandmates for his recent "insane" behaviour. Ozzy wrote: "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a*****e to the people I love most, my family. "However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober. "Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I'm just trying to be a better person. "I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period.........and my fans."

NORTH KOREA: Hope that Kerry and China can bring N. Korea into dialogue, Apr 16, 2013

"By Park Byong-su, staff reporter Last weekend, tensions on the Korean Peninsula seemed to begin calming. The combination of President Park Geun-hye’s offer of inter-Korean dialogue and US Secretary of State John Kerry’s message that he was willing to sit down with the leaders in Pyongyang has had an alleviating effect on the situation. But the situation remains fluid. A South Korean government official said, “North Korean people are obviously concerned about how North Korea is going to take Mr. Kerry’s message.” “The dust is going to have to settle a bit before we know exactly what happened and what to do next,” the official added, suggesting tensions might boil over again depending on how North Korea responds. Indeed, it is still unclear just what path Pyongyang will take. If it renews its barrage of heavy provocations with missile launches and so on, the crisis could very well deteriorate beyond repair. The result may be a repeat of the traditional cycle of provocations met with United Nations Security Council sanctions, which are in turn met by more provocations."

ASTEROID tracking infrared sensor passes key test, Apr 16, 2013

Asteroid tracking infrared sensor passes key test
"Washington: A NASA funded infrared sensor that could improve the agency's future detecting and tracking of asteroids and comets has passed a critical design test. The test assessed performance of the Near Earth Object Camera (NEOCam) in an environment that mimicked the temperatures and pressures of deep space. NEOCam is the cornerstone instrument for a proposed new space-based asteroid-hunting telescope. The sensor could be a vital component to inform plans for the agency's recently announced initiative to develop the first-ever mission to identify, capture and relocate an asteroid closer to Earth for future exploration by astronauts.
