EW - Angelina Jolie goes back to black for her return to the red carpet, Jun 03, 2013
"Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet in support of fiance Brad Pitt at the world premiere of World War Z in London yesterday, making her first public appearance since undergoing a double mastectomy last February. Asked by one reporter how it felt to be back on the red carpet, Jolie expressed gratitude for the support she has received since revealing the news in a New York Times column last month, but did her best to steer the conversation back to Pitt. ”It’s Brad’s night… I’m very excited for Brad and I think it’s a very fun film. And my boys are around somewhere tonight, so they’re enjoying it,” the actress told Sky News. Asked how Pitt has supported her through her ordeal, Jolie replied: “He’s been extraordinary. He’s a wonderful man and a wonderful father, and I’m very, very lucky.”"

BALTIMORE Sun - Supreme Court authorizes post-arrest DNA collection, Jun 03, 2013
"The U.S. Supreme Court says police may collect DNA samples without a warrant from individuals charged with — but not convicted of — violent crimes, in an opinion released Monday that overturns a ruling by Maryland's highest court. The 5-4 decision upheld the law that authorizes police in Maryland, the federal government and about half the states to continue collecting the genetic information. The sharply divided ruling stems from a Maryland case in which a Worcester County man, Alonzo King, was linked to a rape after his DNA was taken in an unrelated arrest. Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the majority, said DNA collection was a legitimate arrest procedure akin to fingerprinting and photographing and used for the purpose of identifying suspects."

Toronto Sun - Czech capital on alert as floods sweep central Europe, Jun 03, 2013
"PRAGUE - Volunteers piled up sandbags to keep a swollen river from overwhelming the Czech capital’s historic centre on Monday after floods across central Europe forced factories to close, drove thousands from their homes and killed at least seven people. Five people were killed at the weekend in the Czech Republic, where the flooding was the worst in a decade and a state of emergency was declared, while in Austria two people died and another two were missing. The flooding, which also affected parts of Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, sent shares in reinsurers Munich Re and Hannover Re down by about 2.5%, with markets anticipating big claims from property owners once the waters recede. Carmaker Volkswagen temporarily shut its plant in Zwickau, in the eastern German state of Saxony, because the flooding stopped workers reaching the factory."
