A micro-organism (the bacter- ium GFAJ-1) having arsenic as one of its parts/elements of cellular structure, substituting for phosphorus , one of the “big six” (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and phosphor - us), was found along the shore of Mono Lake, California, U.S.A. The new discovery made by a NASA fellow astrobiologist Felisa Wolfe-Simon opens new ways to the cognition of how life is formed, and to new and closest search for life on other planets and moons.
