Cable

for the story. I love how the pundits are yawning over the latest
WikiLeaks revelations: oh, there’s nothing to see here, it’s all so
boring, no "smoking gun," so let’s just move right along. These people
are just plain lazy: they want "scoops" delivered to their front doors,
all neatly packaged and labeled as such. In short, they don’t want to
have to do any work, beyond the usual cut-and-paste. Which is why a lot
of the really juicy stuff coming out of WikiLeaks continues to elude
them.
Leaked Cable Reveals Obama Sent To “2012 ALICE Bunker” Due To Norway “Spiral”
Leaked Cable Reveals Obama Sent To “2012 ALICE Bunker” Due To Norway “Spiral”
What
can be inferred from this language, though, is that whatever occurred
over Norway on December 8th of last year caused such a state of alarm
within the US Military establishment they advised their President and
Secretary of Defense to take shelter in a previously unidentified
bunker. It is, also, curious to note that nearly immediately after this
“event” the American White House began what is described as a massive,
and secret, construction project that according to one US news source
has left visitors facing a “maze of fences”. Most ominous of all about
this cable is its reference to the year 2012, especially in its coupling
with a bunker intended for use by America’s top political and military
officials and in light of the many ancient prophecies associated with
it. Above all else, what this cable clearly shows, and undoubtedly the
hundreds of thousands more yet to be released, is that America’s
leadership class is failing to keep it citizens informed as to either
the true state of the World they live in, and the growing dangers they
will all soon face.

assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in
darkness, every movement scrutinized." -Winston Smith worries in George
Orwell's classic novel, "1984." All Winston yearns for is a place
outside of the all-seeing electronic eye of the Telescreen, a private
place that Big Brother's penetrating gaze can't reach. So Winston picks
up a journal on the black market, a "thoughtcrime" he knows will sign
his own death warrant. And yet, while Winston's varicose vein aches,
while panic overtakes him, he writes himself to death by the unshakable
urge to have a world to himself, to have words to himself, to have a
private place. Winston dies for this unreachable place, for his privacy.

A
bitter, losing fight against the power of money. Out of America: Tax
cuts for billionaires, and bankers with more clout than ever – nothing
has changed. The US is a land of extremes: climatic, economic and
ideological. But amid the turbulent craziness of American politics,
there is one constant: money rules. And never more so than in the
closing weeks of this sour and eminently forgettable year of 2010 – when
the recession never really went away, the Tea Party marched into
Washington, and the presidency of Barack Obama shrivelled before one's
eyes.

mission to avert nuclear apocalypse. There's more to the WikiLeaks
dispatches than leaks. Look behind them, at the writers, and you see the
loyal rearguard of America: an imperial power in retreat. There was a
tradition in our Foreign Office that a retiring ambassador could blow
off steam. In a final, exuberant telegram to Whitehall, he could say
exactly what he thought of the country he was leaving, and of the folly
of the Foreign Office in ignoring his advice. The best telegrams were
treasured by young diplomats. But they began to leak into the press. And
a few years ago this privilege was suppressed.

Washington is dreaming of 2040 or 2050 as the end of the American
Century, a more realistic assessment of domestic and global trends
suggests that in 2025, just 15 years from now, it could all be over
except for the shouting.

measures it took between 2007 and 2010, using taxpayer funds, to bail
out major financial firms in the US and around the world. The sums
involved are staggering. Fed bailout loans outstanding reached a high of
$3.3 trillion, but the cumulative amount of cash funneled by the US
central bank to banks, hedge funds and major industrial corporations
reached the tens of trillions of dollars.

of the labor force were out of work, the longest span since the federal
government began reporting such figures after World War II.

Creating a Country of the Rich, By the Rich, For the Rich The New American Oligarchy
Creating a Country of the Rich, By the Rich, For the Rich The New American Oligarchy
There
is a war underway. I'm not talking about Washington’s bloody
misadventures in Afghanistan and Iraq, but a war within our own borders.
It’s a war fought on the airwaves, on television and radio and over the
Internet, a war of words and images, of half-truth, innuendo, and
raging lies. I'm talking about a political war, pitting liberals against
conservatives, Democrats against Republicans. I'm talking about a
spending war, fueled by stealthy front groups and deep-pocketed
anonymous donors. It’s a war that's poised to topple what's left of
American democracy.

American airwaves quiver with the screams of parlor assassins howling
for Julian Assange's head. Jonah Goldberg, contributor to the National
Review, asks in his syndicated column, "Why wasn't Assange garroted in
his hotel room years ago?" Sarah Palin wants him hunted down and brought
to justice, saying: "He is an anti-American operative with blood on his
hands." Assange can survive these theatrical blusters. A tougher
question is how he will fare at the hands of the US government, which is
hopping mad. The US attorney general, Eric Holder, has announced that
the Justice Department and Pentagon are conducting "an active, ongoing
criminal investigation" into the latest Assange-facilitated leak under
Washington's Espionage Act. Asked how the US could prosecute Assange, a
non-US citizen, Holder said, "Let me be clear. This is not
saber-rattling," and vowed "to swiftly close the gaps in current US
legislation…"

critics calling her out as a racist.

titled “Jamie Dimon: America’s Least-Hated Banker,” is generally
sympathetic, but in every significant detail it confirms that Mr. Dimon

dangerous because he is in any narrow sense incompetent. On the
contrary, Mr. Dimon is very good at getting what he wants. And now he
wants to run a bigger, more interconnected, and more global bank that –
if it were to fail – would cause great chaos around the world.
