Before his team eliminated Brazil from the 2010 World Cup on Friday evening Bert van Marwijk promised us that total football was dead, and his team lived up to their head coach's words. Holland were as far from the gilded generation of Cruyff, Neeskens, Krol and Rensenbrink as Dunga's Brazil were from the team of Pelé, Gérson, Tostão and Clodoaldo.

Maradona in post-match altercation with German fans - Dirty Tackle - World Soccer Blog - Yahoo! Sports

Immediately after Argentina's 4-0 quarterfinal loss to Germany on Saturday, Maradona was understandably upset. And according to Argentina's Diarios y Noticias, he let a group of German fans know it. A translation of their report:
Argentina national team coach Diego Maradona had an altercation with German fans after the end of the match that marked the elimination of said team from the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
Apparently upset over post game celebrations by fans located behind the Argentinean bench, Maradona approached and scolded them, until Dalma, one of his daughters, entered the field and contained him.

The Associated Press
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — David Villa scored with seven minutes left Saturday to give Spain a 1-0 win over Paraguay and its first ever appearance in the World Cup semifinals.
The ball fell to Villa in the area after Pedro Rodriguez hit the post. The Spain striker took one touch before curling a shot that hit both posts before going in.
Villa's tournament-leading fifth goal set up a semifinal match against Germany in Durban on Wednesday.
Paraguay's defence mostly kept Spain's vaunted attack at bay, and both teams' best chance to win in normal time came from the penalty spot.
Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas saved a 59th-minute penalty kick by Oscar Cardozo before Paraguay captain Justo Villar matched him from a retaken effort by Xabi Alonso two minutes later.
