Hydropower, the largest energy producer in Romania, the force majeure clause will enable all the 41 direct contracts for the sale of electricity due to severe drought that affected the company's energy production.
Without activation of this clause would be Hidroelectrica had to fulfill all contractual obligations, although energy production would not have allowed this company was sentenced to major losses by purchasing power from producers lack heat at much higher prices .
After activation of this clause, Hidroelectrica will perhaps only as far as these direct contracts, customers are required to ensure the needs of other sources.
