Former South African President Nelson Mandela, who turns 92 on Sunday, which the United Nations has declared International Mandela Day, was on Saturday joined at his Johannesburg home by 92 children from two villages where he came from in South Africa's Eastern Cape province, local media reported.

HAVANA (Reuters) - As Cuba shipped off more freed political prisoners to Spain, former leader Fidel Castro stayed in the spotlight on Tuesday, making his third public appearance in the past week after four years in seclusion.
On Tuesday, nine political prisoners arrived to Spain and joined the ones who had arrived last week, as was announced by Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos. “Next Tuesday will arrive nine other political prisoners” said Moratinos.

They began by making the "L" sign for liberty and the "V" sign for victory with their fingers.
The six independent journalists from Cuba gathered at a news conference in Madrid were among the first to arrive in Spain this week after being freed by the Havana authorities.
