No wardrobe staple has withstood the test of time quite like the little black dress has.  First introduced to the American vernacular in 1926 by world-renowned designer, Coco Chanel, this fashion basic overcame its traditional association with mourning to become the definition of sexy simplicity.  The versatility of the LBD, and its ability to make women of all shapes and sizes look slim and sophisticated, is what has kept the dress in vogue for more than 80 years.
