In a speech broadcast on Libyan state television this morning, Col Muammar Gaddafi told members of the Zentan tribe that foreign elements had infiltrated several cities in Libya, targeting youngsters and brainwashing them with weapons, drugs and sometimes money.
The Libyan leader also called for opposition-held city of Benghazi in the east of the country to be liberated.
"There is no choice for the people of Benghazi but to go out on the streets - men, women and children to rid Benghazi of this betrayal," he said.

The death toll in the Christchurch earthquake is getting the publicity, but many forgotten victims are facing permanent disability or life-long effects from injuries.
The February 22 disaster killed more than 166 people, but many others have serious head or spinal injuries or have lost limbs after being crushed or struck by collapsing buildings or falling debris.
The number of injured is still being tallied, but of the 300 to 400 people who went through Christchurch

TRIPOLI, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Libya's leader Muammar Gaddafi has once again alleged involvement of foreigners in the rebellion against his nearly 42-year grip on power, Al-Jazeera TV reported Wednesday.
In an address on state TV in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Gaddafi warned of a plot to colonise Libya, noting his security forces had captured several foreigners during a raid on Monday.
