RFERL - Iranian Scientist Invents 'Time Machine', Apr 12, 2013

"Iranian scientist Ali Razeghi has registered a time machine with the country’s Center for Strategic Inventions. Razeghi, 27, cites algorithms as the source of the device’s ability to "predict five to eight years of the future life of any individual with 98 percent accuracy." The invention, dubbed "The Aryayek Time Traveling Machine," produces printed reports that contain details about the future, according to "The Telegraph," which cites an Iranian news agency report. “My invention easily fits into the size of a personal computer case,” said Razeghi, “It will not take you into the future, it will bring the future to you.”"

BANGOR DAILY - ‘Hermit’ burglar compound littered with batteries, ‘tons and tons’ of propane tanks, Apr 11, 2013

"When it was reported Tuesday that Maine State Police arrested a man last week who is suspected of committing more than 1,000 burglaries, slipping into camps at night to steal supplies to support his existence as a hermit, many people had the same question: Is it really possible that the “Hermit” burglar, 47-year-old Christopher Knight, survived in the Maine wilderness for more than a quarter of a century? Without a campfire? Without any human contact? Jodie Mosher-Towle, newsletter writer and board member of the North Pond Association Jodie Mosher-Towle grew up in Smithfield and has been talking with neighbors about the “North Pond Hermit” for the past 20 years. The legend grew as owners of camps and homes on the southern end of North Pond reported being burglarized repeatedly."

SYRIA: At least 4,300 Syrians killed in airstrikes, rights group says, Apr 11, 2013

At least 4,300 Syrians killed in airstrikes, rights group says
"BEIRUT - The Syrian regime has carried out indiscriminate and sometimes deliberate airstrikes against civilians that have killed at least 4,300 people since last summer, an international human rights group said today. Human Rights Watch said Syrian fighter jets have deliberately targeted bakeries, breadlines and hospitals in the country’s northern region. Parts of northern Syria - especially areas along the border with Turkey - have in the past months fallen under the control of rebels fighting to topple President Bashar Al Assad, including several neighbourhoods of the northern city of Aleppo, which is the country’s largest urban centre."

HUFFINGTON POST - Baby Dinosaur Fossils Found In China Show That Embryos Kicked, Wiggled In Egg, Apr 11, 2013

Baby Dinosaur
"By: Stephanie Pappas, LiveScience Senior Writer Published: 04/10/2013 01:04 PM EDT on LiveScience Embryonic dinosaurs kicked and wiggled in the egg, a new discovery of a baby-dino-bone bed suggests. The bones, all from not-yet-hatched embryonic dinosaurs, are among the oldest dinosaur-embryo fossils ever found. What's more, the embryo fossils came from separate nests and the dino embryos were at different stages of development when they died — two discoveries that will enable researchers to study how dinosaurs developed before hatching. "It tells us quite a bit about early embryonic stages and changes that occur in the embryonic life of these animals — something we haven't really seen before," said study researcher Robert Reisz, a paleontologist at the University of Toronto."

CNN - North Korean missile in upright firing position, official says, Apr 11, 2013

Watch this video
"(CNN) -- North Korea has raised at least one missile into its upright firing position, feeding concerns that a launch is imminent, a U.S. official told CNN Thursday. This comes as the world continued to keep watch for a possible missile launch by the secretive government, and a day before U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to arrive in the region. In the latest daily tough talk from the North, a government agency is quoted by the state-run media as saying that "war can break out any moment." The South Koreans -- who've heard the cross-border bombast before -- are taking the swagger in stride. Washington regards much of the North's saber rattling as bluster."
