GUAM residents pray as they face N. Korea threats, Apr 13, 2013
"How seriously should Guam residents take North Korea's missile threats? That question is on the minds of island residents as April 15, a special date for North Koreans, nears. "Every time I think about the threat, I pray," says Marissa Antonio, of Dededo, a village near Andersen Air Force Base, which was threatened by Pyongyang. "I am a bit scared," she adds. "I try not to think about it, but I got to be prepared." Last week, North Korea moved a mid-range missile to its east coast. The missile was designed to be capable of reaching Guam, a U.S. territory with military bases. April 15 is a looming date because it is the 101st birthday of North Korea's deceased founder, Kim Il Sung. He is the grandfather of North Korea's current leader, Kim Jong Un."

CBS POSTS - No settlement reached in Kardashian-Humphries divorce, Apr 12, 2013
"LOS ANGELES -- Kim Kardashian left a Los Angeles courthouse without reaching a settlement in her divorce case from Brooklyn Nets power forward Kris Humphries. Humphries' attorneys declined to comment on settlement discussions Friday, but say a May 6 trial date remains. A judge sealed settlement discussions, but any agreement would have been put on the record after the hearing. Kardashian appeared in court and was flanked by deputies as she left the courthouse shortly around noon. Humphries did not attend the hearing. The reality star wants a divorce to end her 72-day marriage to Humphries, but the NBA player wants it annulled. He claims the marriage was based on fraud, but he would have to approve the allegation at trial."

BBC News - Russia warns US against publicising Magnitsky list, Apr 12, 2013
"A spokesman for President Vladimir Putin said publication of the names would have a very negative impact. The US imposed the sanctions after Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitski died in jail in 2009 in disputed circumstances. He was arrested after accusing officials of embezzling cash. The Magnitsky Act passed by Washington in 2012 blacklists Russian officials accused of involvement in his death. The names - which have up to now been kept secret - are due to be made public on Friday."

CHANNEL NEWS ASIA - Putin unveils US$50b drive for Russian space supremacy, Apr 12, 2013
"MOSCOW: President Vladimir Putin on Friday unveiled a new US$50 billion drive for Russia to preserve its status as a top space power, including the construction of a brand new cosmodrome from where humans will fly to space by the end of the decade. Fifty-two years to the day since Yuri Gagarin became the Soviet Union's greatest hero by making the first human flight into space, Putin inspected the new Vostochny (Eastern) cosmodrome Russia is building in the Amur region of the Far East. Putin said in a live link-up with the multinational crew of the International Space Sation (ISS) that Russia hoped to have the first launches from Vostochny in 2015 and the first manned launches in 2018. "It's going to be a great launch pad. It took a long time to choose but now work is fully underway," said Putin in comments broadcast on state television, adding that Vostochny would be fully operational by 2020."
