ABC News (Australia) - Dozens dead after huge Iranian quake shakes Middle East, Asia, Apr 16, 2013
"The US Geological Survey says the epicentre of the magnitude 7.8 quake was 86 kilometres from the city of Iranian Khash, near the border with Pakistan. It killed at least 35 people in neighbouring Pakistan, destroying hundreds of houses and shaking buildings as far away as India and Gulf Arab states. Search and rescue efforts are now underway in the sparsely-populated desert and mountain region. An Iranian provincial governor said there are no reports of deaths in Iran so far, but there were reports that 27 people had been injured. Communications to the area have been cut which is making it difficult for authorities to assess the number of casualties"
