The Major Foodborne Illness Outbreaks of 2011, Jan 02, 2012

Foodborne diseases in the United States account for an estimated 48 million illnesses, 128,000 hospitalizations, and 3000 deaths annually.[1,2]
In an effort to ensure the safety of the US food supply, President Obama signed the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) on January 4, 2011. Equally important, the law designated the fight against cancer a national priority."
