Green Design Festival launched in Athens to promote environment-friendly urban lifestyle

ATHENS, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The third annual Green Design Festival opened in Syntagma Square in the center of Athens on Friday with the aim to promote an environment-friendly urban lifestyle.

The open-air event, which runs till Oct. 10 under the auspices of the City of Athens and the Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, invites Greek citizens and foreign visitors to take a look at experts' suggestions regarding everyday practices that protect the environment.

New York Film Festival kicks off

NEW YORK, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The 48th New York Film Festival opened on Friday night at Lincoln Center with David Fincher's latest movie "The Social Network" as the premier screening.

The film, which follows then-Harvard undergrad Mark Zuckerberg' s path to fame and riches, is about the founding of Facebook and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
