The Daily Beast : "Talk about a difficult conversation. Olympic double amputee Oscar Pistorius "wants to contact" his murdered girlfriend's family, according to a statement by his uncle. "We don't want to put him under pressure but while we were in the car, that is what he said," Pistorius's uncle recounted. "The family of Reeva is in his mind all the time and he knows his purpose would be to be part of the family in future." Pistorius was released on bail Friday, and will be staying with his uncle. Whether or not Reeva Steenkamp's family will want to see him is unclear. The late model's father said in a recent interview that Pistorius would have to "live with his conscience" if he was lying about how or why he killed her.

"Google earns money by violating your privacy. They go through every word of your personal Gmail so they can target you with ads.
Every word of every email. Even the most private ones, like messages about relationships, health care, finances, and more. Do you feel violated yet?
Even if you don't use Gmail, Google will still go through emails you send to Gmail addresses in order to sell ads -- despite you never having agreed to their terms of service. There is absolutely no way to opt out, whether you use Gmail or not." info@als-alexander.orgor interalex1@yahoo.com
"Pope Benedict XVI on Saturday promised top Vatican officials he would remain in "spiritual proximity" with them even after he resigns next week, at the end of a week-long spiritual retreat in the Vatican. The pope also told members of the Roman Curia -- the government of the Church -- that the beauty of God's creation "is constantly contradicted by the evil of this world, by suffering and by corruption."" info@als-alexander.orgor interalex1@yahoo.com
"As governments try to impose their rule on the Internet, digital rights activist strive to keep Internet governance open, inclusive and controlled by the many. In a four-part series, CI’s Digital Rights Senior Policy Officer Jeremy Malcolm looks at the issues.
In the wake of last year's defeat of the controversial ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) treaty in Europe and of the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) bills in the United States, both of which called on intermediaries to police consumers' use of the Internet, digital rights activists in the West have naturally gained a heightened sensitivity to their governments intruding on Internet freedoms." info@als-alexander.orgor interalex1@yahoo.com
