"In Sweden, if one undergoes gender reassignment and wants it to be formally recognized, the law requires that they be sterilized. This law was implemented in 1972 and has not been changed, despite outcry from human rights activists and citizens alike.
Trans* people in Sweden often do not want to have the surgery for many reasons -- some of which include the fact that it is a serious and invasive medical procedure, and also that many of them want to have children someday. Those that choose not to have the surgery and stay fertile cannot change their gender on official documents or be accurately represented in any way.
Please tell Sweden's Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt that this is violation of human rights and every person has the right to make decisions about their own body! "
