Among the six killed and 13 injured in yesterday's gruesome attack on Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson was 9-year-old third-grader Christina-Taylor Green, daughter of Dodgers scout John Greene, and granddaughter of former Phillies pitcher and manager Dallas Greene. "A budding political scientist, the young girl was there to meet Gabrielle Giffords when Jared Loughner allegedly opened fire," reports Yahoo Sports.
As reported in the Arizona Daily Star, Green was already a good public speaker, elected to the student council at her elementary school, told her parents she wanted to attend Penn State University and have a career helping those less fortunate. She reportedly loved ballet, animals, jazz and hip hop, and played second base as the only girl on a Little League team. Her birthday was Sept. 11, 2001.
