The U.S. ski team has invested millions to partner with Copper Mountain and open its own downhill training run at the resort from Nov. 1 to Dec. 10, guaranteeing Olympic medalists such as Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, Miller and Ted Ligety an early base of solid snow by using 87 snowmaking guns to blanket the nearly 2-mile course.
