“As the representative of one of the most diverse constituencies in the country, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate the people of Trinidad and Tobago on celebrating the 48th Anniversary of their Independence. From the development of Calypso music, to Nobel Laureates, Sir Vidia Naipaul and Derek Walcott, I have seen firsthand how their culture has enriched our nation and the world.
